With Mother’s Day fast approaching, I am reminded of the time I spent with my family last year on that Sunday afternoon. After a delicious brunch with my father, mother, sister, and brother in honor of the woman who gave me life, we ventured to the epicenter of uptown Manhattan, Central Park. And after finding a cozy stretch of green throughout the sea of people, we. . .sat.

You may be wondering, “What happened next?!” And the answer is nothing. We sat and relaxed while enjoying each other’s company outside. Unheard of in New York! But the beauty of Central Park or any park within Manhattan is the escape it offers us. New York City is crowded, fast paced and, at times, extremely stressful. But stepping foot into Central Park can alleviate those feelings associated with the city. It lets you take a step back and smell the roses…
